Spring News Letter 2011

Get creative with what you have

Spring is finally here and now is a good time to start packing away all your heavier knits and coats, washing, dry cleaning and storing them away for next winter. Since your packing winter clothes away it's a good opportunity to organise ones wardrobe. Organising your closet can be like shopping in a way - you are likely to discover pieces that you forgot you bought and the priceless gems from bygone years. When you focus on how to make what you already have work, you start to get creative. My point is that organising the wardrobe helps you realize that it is best to slow down with the shopping for a moment and get creative with what you have. The main reason is to remind yourself of all the special pieces you already own and increase the chances of wearing them. Organising your wardrobe also helps you assess what is missing and what is needed to help make these special pieces work which in short should create a very organised list that will help you avoid buying impulsive mistakes.

What's new this season................

The Midi Skirt

The newest trend this season would have to be the midi skirt. Not only is it a great Tran seasonal piece but any easy way to freshen your look, its feminine, ladylike and modern at the same time. The best way to wear it is with a clean and simple fitted tank, tee or shirt

Neutral Territory

If you are like me and adore neutral colours then this is the season to stock up on your favourite colours after a long hiatus. Camel, taupe, stone, straw, khaki - you name it they are all available this season and if you find these hues tricky just remember to ensure the tone is different to your skin colour. Fair complexions should opt for darker shades, while those with olive skin suit lighter beiges. And don't forget if you love a colour but don't feel confident enough to wear it in a garment there are loads of accessory options that have been given the caramel touch this season as well.

Block Colours:

Its official, Colour is the new black and for spring designers have favoured ravishing reds, plush purples, bright blues and a riot of citrus shades. Strong hues are no longer solely the domain of fashion's risk takers; they're for everyone so get on board and find the shade that will make you shine. Pair a bright coloured dress with neutral accessories or use accessories as your impact.

Stripes

The Humble Stripe is no longer confided to nautical styles, this season you will find them on all types of garments and accessories giving this old favourite a new twist.

Print-tastic: One of the great things about these bold prints is that there are so many ways you can transition them into your wardrobe! If this is your first time wearing these eye-catching patterns, I suggest pairing them with simple understated pieces and neutral accessories so that the print remains the focal point of your outfit.
